Mr. Clark has owned his business in Northern Michigan since 1979. His areas of expertise include preparing community master plans, community guidebooks, recreation plans, corridor
studies, and assisting communities to revise zoning ordinances. He has had the opportunity to work on a vast number of projects varying in scale and scope, both nationally and internationally. Mr. Clark has fifteen years of experience working with diverse groups and facilitating consensus on controversial issues in numerous communities, and he is a certified
charrette planner thru the National Charrette Institute.
Mr. Clark won an award for his environmentally sensitive design of a mixed-use housing development in Chicago, Illinois. He was the Senior Planner for a New Town project in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This New Town plan involved community design concepts, master planning for community support systems, site design for residential development and site planning for recreation, schools & commercial facilities.
Mr. Clark has also been the Planning Assistant for Leelanau County. In this capacity, he evaluated township master plans and zoning ordinances. He also administered a HUD Rehabilitation
Project in the Peshawbestown Indian Reservation, which consisted of health and sanitary improvements for fifty dwelling
units.
Through his experience as a small business owner, working closely with his clients, Mr. Clark has become particularly sensitive to the design needs of northern Michigan communities. He has built a rapport with the numerous municipalities in the area while providing planning consulting services and walking
projects through the varying stages of the governmental approval process.
